I am a musicologist with over a decade of experience in layout and editing. After completing my dissertation in 2019, I formed Academic Formatting, LLC so that I could help graduate students and scholars ensure that their research is not obscured by formatting problems or rejected because of citation irregularities.
I believe that good editing refines academic writing into something that is clear and concise. Similarly, good formatting results in a document that is consistent throughout, easily understandable by the reader, and pleasing to look at.
I specialize in ludomusicology (the study of sound and music in video games), specifically the function of pre-existing music in video games. I have presented my research at conferences in the U.S. and Canada and published it in a digital journal. I am currently co-editing a volume on nostalgia and video game music, for which I am writing an essay on confronting racism in American popular music via BioShock Infinite. Please see my C.V. or visit my academia.edu page to learn more about my research.
